In the Grey Circles
A grief support circle for women
held online, across British Columbia
This is a place to grieve alongside other women. To say the loss out loud, to be witnessed in it, and not be asked to be over it. Whoever or whatever you're missing, and however long it's been, you're welcome here.

You might feel drawn to the circle if:
You're grieving someone or something, and quietly feel like you're supposed to be over it by now.
You've lost a person, a pet, a relationship, or a version of your life you're still mourning.
You're tired of holding it all together for everyone else.
You want to sit with other women who understand that grief isn't linear.
If you read those and felt something settle, or ache, that's enough. You don't need to explain it to anyone, including me.

Why I created In the Grey Circles
For years, I gathered with other women in all kinds of spaces - support groups, workshops, rooms full of like-minded people. And underneath so much of it, again and again, was the same thing: grief. Loss that hadn't been named, or hadn't been given anywhere to go.
I found myself longing for a space built around exactly that. Somewhere I could simply be myself, share what I was carrying, and be witnessed in it without feeling like I needed to be fixed, or hurried, or changed. Somewhere I could be truly seen and heard.
What I've come to understand is that grief doesn't move in a straight line, and that the real change tends to happen through awareness, courage, and self-compassion - usually in the company of people who understand. In the Grey Circles came out of that longing. Honestly, out of necessity.
"There is a particular kind of relief in being witnessed - in speaking a loss out loud and having it received, rather than fixed. That's what happens in circle."
Every week makes room for whatever you bring. The rhythm stays soft and familiar, so you always know what you're walking into.
We begin by arriving and settling in together, taking a moment to land. I'll usually guide us through a short meditation or a gentle embodiment practice. Then we go around, and each of us shares how we're arriving that day - a small win, a hard week, or simply where we are. From there we move into open sharing, loosely held by a prompt for the week, taking turns speaking and listening and holding space for one another. And we close together, gently, before we part.
The season is held on both ends. Our first week opens with a welcoming ceremony, and our last closes with a candlelit vigil as a way of honouring both what the circle held, and what each of us carries forward.
How the circle works
Each circle is a small group of up to eight women-identifying participants, held by me, meeting online at the same day and time each week for eight weeks. New circles open with the seasons.
The heart of it is showing up. We come as we are, even on the weeks that are hard - especially those weeks - because the circle leans on that steadiness to feel safe. So I ask that you come to each week you've signed up for, unless illness, an emergency, or travel keeps you away.
And what's shared in circle stays in circle. Every woman's honesty is held as something sacred. That part isn't negotiable, and it's what makes it possible to be honest at all.

$222 - a small nod to balance and alignment, an echo of the very transition this circle is meant to hold.
Being part of a circle is $222 for the full eight weeks, due when you register. It covers the administration, the materials, and the facilitation.
If that fee is what's standing between you and this circle, please tell me. A sliding scale may be available, and I'd genuinely rather you were here.
The next circle opens this fall
There are only eight places in each circle. Once the fall one fills, the next chance to join won't come around until winter 2027. If you think this might be for you, adding your name to the waitlist is the surest way to know the moment a place opens - you'll hear from me before it's shared anywhere else.
Questions women often ask
What kinds of loss are welcome here? All of them, truly. A person, a pet, a relationship, a diagnosis, a move, a version of your life you thought you'd have - including the losses that are hard to put into words. If you're grieving, you belong here.
Is this therapy? It isn't, and I want to be clear about that. This is a facilitated support circle, not one-on-one counselling. I'm a Registered Counsellor, so the space is held with care and skill, but its heart is community and being witnessed by other women. It can sit alongside your own therapy - it doesn't take its place.
My grief feels really fresh, or really old. Is that okay? Yes. Grief keeps its own time, and there's no such thing as too soon or too late. If, once we've talked, it feels like one-on-one support would hold you better right now, I'll tell you gently and help you find it.
What if I don't want to talk, or I cry the whole time? Both are completely welcome. There's no pressure to perform your grief or find the right words. Being here and being witnessed is enough. Your tears are welcome, and so is your silence.
What if I have to miss a week? Life happens - illness, an emergency, being away. What I ask is that you commit to the weeks you can be there, because the circle's steadiness is part of what keeps it safe for everyone.
Will what I share stay private? Yes. We hold a shared agreement together: what's spoken in circle stays in circle.
What if I'm really struggling right now? This circle isn't the right place for a crisis, and I don't want you to wait if things feel unbearable. There is a list of resources to help you on the Resources Page.
